Personal Statement
As a soccer player, I love to play left and right back, but I also play left and center midfield. I like these positions because I love to assist plays or make them. The best part is contributing to a play and celebrating after the team has made a goal. I am a very extroverted person that loves to yell positive and helpful comments on and off the field. I am upbeat and enjoy keeping my teammates engaged in the game. I am always eager to learn more about soccer and the positions I play. I’ve always wanted to play soccer at the collegiate level and hope my hard work and determination will pay off.
I am looking for a college experience where I can make an immediate impact on the soccer pitch and in the classroom. I am an excellent student who takes academics seriously and realizes that will be my priority in college. In 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 I was the recipient of the Molly Youth Award in my community, which recognizes local middle and high school students that excel in the classroom, community, and athletic arena. My short-term goal is to graduate high school with honors and attend a great college with high academic and athletic standards where I can play soccer and quickly make a difference for my team. My long-term focus is to get accepted to veterinary school and become a large animal veterinarian.
I have many interests outside of soccer and school. I have played many other sports to include ski racing, softball, track, volleyball, and basketball. I have competed at the varsity level for my high school ski team for three years and qualified for the state race in both slalom and giant slalom each year. During the off seasons I plan on continuing to work on my soccer skills and participating in other forms of fitness. I also love animals and have plans to volunteer at a local animal shelter. I currently intern at a local large animal veterinary hospital. I belong to my local 4H chapter and will raise my sixth 4H lamb starting in January 2019.
I am very involved in student ministry at my church. In 2017 I spent my spring break on a mission trip to Mexico to work at a local orphanage.
I know I will be a great addition to whatever college I end up attending. Soccer has taught me so many great life lessons already and I know there are many more to come. Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement and learn a little about me!
