Personal Statement
I am currently a Senior at Stevens High School in Claremont, NH, and I'm involved in the soccer team at my school, indoor league at Grantham, and continue to practice every day. I always do whatever it takes to be the top in my team, and intend to bring my passion for soccer through college.
I made the Varsity team as a freshman in 2015, and began my soccer career in an defensive position. To balance the team, my coach moved me to the sweeper position early in the season. Although it was not something I had done before in a Varsity setting, I practiced hard every day and thrived in the position. My work was recognized when I won the coach's award that year for my flexibility and going above and beyond the expectations.
As I moved up to midfielder at the start of my Sophomore season, I kept up with my skills even during the off season, getting involved in track to increase my speed and joining an indoor soccer league to ensure my mind was still sharp on the field. I pride myself in having both the foresight to see what it will take to win the game in the middle of the action, but the brawn and determination to follow through.
I pride myself on exceeding the goals I set for myself. I went my Junior year focusing on two things: I wanted to score 15 goals and become team captain. I was unanimously voted into the position, and proved my worth in the position by finishing the season with 18 goals and 5 assists.
I had multiple goals going into my senior year: I wanted to score 25 goals, continue my position as captain, be the leading scorer for my team once again, and finally, break the school record for girls soccer which was 30 goals. I finished my senior year by achieving all my goals, and becoming the new holder of the single season scoring record for girls soccer at Stevens High School with 34 goals. Aside from my personal goals, my team and I had one goal, which was to make it to the final four. We finished our season 15-3 and earned runner up in the NHIAA DIvision III State Championship.
I am looking to connect with college coaches who are looking for a reliable addition to their team. I can excel in any position, and am excited to show my abilities.
