As a high school student athlete when I think of my future in college I cannot imagine it without me playing soccer. A top priority of mine is to attend an academically challenging school where I will excel in the classroom and on the field. In college I see myself studying science and math. I’m a very determined person in soccer and academics, never shying away from hard work. Actually, I often find myself picking the more difficult choice and enjoying the challenge. You can see this characteristic of mine academically in my choice to participate in the honors program, and in how I spend my free time. When not playing soccer I rock climbing, ice climbing, and backpacking. This past summer I spent 30 consecutive days in the backcountry backpacking with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) working on my leadership skills, and have brought those skills back to my everyday life. As a versatile player, just this past session my high school coach had me starting at Defensive Center Midfielder, Outside Back, and Left and Right Outside Midfielder. I’m willing to play whatever position the team needs to help them win and succeed. My humorous, dedicated, and outgoing personality would be a great addition to any academic and athletic community.
