Personal Statement
Soccer is my everything. My six grade year I was cut from the soccer team at my middle school. I was a starter on my club team, but at that time my dreams were crushed. I knew if I was going to make it next year I would have to work my hardest over the next year to get better. That year I joined the cross country team and track team to make myself more fit and worked even harder in my club team to better myself. That experience showed me that nothing was going to be handed to me. I would have to work for it. I am a very determined and hard worker on and off the field. Academically I have all A’s in my honors and AP classes. I was the captain of my club team for 3 years before we split and went to high school. My freshman year of high school I made swing and played both varsity and JV. 4 games into the season I was given my chance at a varsity game. I was put in as a striker 10 minutes into the game. I never came out and from then on I was a varsity player. My sophomore year I was a starter on our varsity team. I am a very positive person and love to help my teammates out. Soccer has given me a family and I can’t wait to get a new family and play at a college level. In a quest to maintain fitness for soccer I joined the basketball team. As a freshman, I played JV, at the end of my sophomore year I was invited to the varsity team and earned a varsity letter. There was no lacrosse my freshman year due to the pandemic, but I made the varsity lacrosse team as a sophomore. These are all secondary to soccer for me, but I enjoy using my soccer skills in these other games as well as taking skills from basketball and lacrosse to assist with soccer.
