Personal Statement
What I aspire to study in college is Early Childhood Education. I have always enjoyed working with babies and toddlers, and when I was in preschool, my teacher saw great potential in my and helped advance me to a higher level at a young age. As a result, I started kindergarten early and am a grade level ahead of my age. I also want to play soccer because it is something I enjoy and I am good at. As an athlete, I stand out because I am a leader, hard worker and bring positive energy to every practice and game. My coaches, both on my high school and club teams, noticed my leadership potential and often look to me to help motivate the team. They also know they can count on me to help in any area they feel there is a need. For example, I have primarily played defense; however, there was a time in a tournament championship game that we tied and had to shoot penalty kicks. Althoough I was not the regular goalie, I had more confidence and willfully stood in as the goalie. This teamwork allowed us to win the tournament championship. I believe I am a strong person, physically and emotionally. During my 8th grade and freshman years, I endured several difficult incidents of bullying which affected my grades and focus. I have also struggled, especially with reading comprehension, but I have not allowed either of those obstacles to stop me from working hard to improve. For these reasons, I believe any recruiter or college would benefit from having me on their team.
