The best way to describe me is that I'm focused, dedicated, and prepared to take on challenges. Soccer is important to me, I started to play at age 5 and knew immediately it was something I wanted to do all the time. As important as soccer is to me I am equally focused on my education and I want to attend a college that can provide me with a solid education and opportunity to grow as a person. Throughout my school years I have been able to balance getting good grades, playing soccer, and volunteering. I will bring this balance to the college I attend as I will want to be active on campus through activities and volunteering. I've always been involved in helping others and participating in volunteer activities such as peer buddies, peer mentorship, Spring games, packing supplies for victims of Hurricane Sandy, and participating in a fundraiser aimed to raise money for cancer victims. Giving back to others in need is a passion I plan on pursuing for the rest of my life. As for my other passion, soccer, I would describe myself as a team player who knows how to work with others on and off the field. When I'm on the field I give 100%, I am not intimidated by any player or team - and they will know that I am a player that will play hard and competitively. Strong points of my play is that I can control and kick the ball with both my right and left foot. Although I'm a righty, in the video you can see that many of the shots are with my left foot. I can play both sides of the field with equal skill. I have a good head for knowing where the ball is going and how to place myself or send the ball to my team mates. I will always pass the ball to a teammate when I see the opportunity - if my teammates scores the whole team scores.
Overall i want to stress that the college I get will get a soccer player, a good student, and someone who wants to be an active member on campus. I would hope that I have the opportunity to speak with coaches to learn more about their soccer programs and academics.
