Personal Statement
I’ve been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. I’m a natural striker and have been the leading goal scorer on every competitive soccer team that I’ve ever played on, including both club and high school. My knack to find the back of the net comes in many forms. Whether it be from power shots (right and left foot), dribbling through multiple defenders, set plays, or capitalizing on my speed to outrun defenders, I can be counted on to finish. With that said, an equally impressive asset is my vision of the field. I have an inherent ability to scan the field and spot teammates for the best passes and scoring opportunities. I’m a team player who always wants to have positive outcomes for my team.
My club team has been either state cup finalist or semi-finalists the past three years. While it is a great accomplishment to reach this level of competition, my goal is to win a state cup before I graduate. Another goal of mine is to maintain my straight A grades during junior and senior year, which will be increasingly difficult as I take on AP classes.
It is imperative that I attend a college where I can be challenged both academically and athletically. I take pride in my work ethic and competitive nature both in the classroom and on the field. Being competitive keeps me motivated and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to succeed in anything I put my mind to. I put in as much effort as possible in everything I do. In terms of family and friends, I always put time aside for them to make sure I have good, meaningful relationships with everyone in my life.
