Personal Statement
Competing in the President's State Cup series and winning the first three games was a highlight of my club soccer career. After getting into the quarter- finals we had been defeated. Although, this is where I felt like I grew the most as a student-athlete. The loss, had encouraged me to re-focus on pushing myself to be a better goalkeeper and teammate, so I am capable to play at the collegiate level, and be a leader on that field. As I also want to take up my goals and aspirations of my academics. As I am now partaking a few honors courses, I am determined to find the right future for me.
I was fortunate enough to compete in playoffs during my first year in high school, I have learned the value of commitment, determination, sacrifice, and leadership. Even without the trophy and execution that was hoped. I have discovered that the feeling of adrenaline that comes with playing my sport, has kept me coming back for more. Making me want to be a better player, always putting in the extra work and effort it takes to fight for a spot that I have dreamed about achieving.
I am looking for a program that is a good fit for me academically as well as athletically. I believe, I have the work-ethic, guidance, and nature but also the talent to compete for a college team. With that, I feel as if I can take part in the role of having an immediate impact for the good, on your team. As a two-sport varsity athlete and honor classes participant, I know that I have what it takes to be a leader on your team.
