Hi, my name is Brielle Gonzalez and I am a 16 year old soccer player. I grew up an only child and my life basically revolved around sports. When I was entering middle school my family and I got the news that my cousins a few states away were in trouble and needed support. After a very long process, during Christmas my eighth grade year, my family was able to gain custody of my three cousins and they have lived with us since. Going from an only child to sharing just about everything including my room, my clothes, and my parents, was a pretty stressful process. My cousins ended up teaching me more about who I am then I ever could have seen. They taught me that I love helping people, whether it be family members, or strangers that are in need. This helped me start to figure out who I am as a person. Helping people became a part of my life that I never knew could exist, but soccer always had a special place. From the moment I earned a spot on my first travel team I fell in love with the sport. From the age of 8 it was something that I always knew would be a part of my life and a part of who I am. I am at my best when I am on the field with my teammates playing the sport I love. Growing up I played on a series of different travel teams, clubs, and premiere teams. In high school, I have started varsity since I was a freshman and hope to continue my senior year. I work hard to be a student of the game and to constantly work hard, whether I am on the field or not. One of my biggest goals for college is to maintain a 3.7-4.0 GPA while still being able to play the sport that I love and study to help others. I hope to play at the D2 or D3 level. This is important to me because I want to be able to maintain stability on all aspects of my life without falling behind in anything. I strive to be a better student and soccer player everyday. With my dedication and hard work ethic I can work hard to get to any goal I set for myself in the future.
