Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Samyra Valenzuela. I've been playing soccer since I was 4 years of age. I'm a Junior at Aztec High School in Aztec, NM. I started on Aztec High School Varsity Soccer team my eighth grade year. I also played Club Ball for FC United in Farmington, NM since 2014. I am currently playing for a club team called Durango Rio Rapids out of Durango, CO. I was always a starter and played up in age on my club team. My goals include playing college soccer and earning an academic degree in my field of choice. I was always taught, in order to make it at the college level, you have to be academically committed. I always make sure to be able to balance sports and academics.
I believe working on my soccer skills (e.g. fundamentals, field of vision, and ball touches) and studying the game of soccer, it'll make me a better soccer player and teammate. I am a very determined person and love to push myself so I can grow as a skilled player. I love to learn new skills and techniques to better myself and as a team player. I also usually average a 3.8-4.0 GPA. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
