Personal Statement
My name is Milena Keene and I attend St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I have been playing varsity soccer since 8th grade, have been a captain since my sophomore year, and I play club soccer for AUFC Thorns 03 White. My primary position is goalkeeper, however, I have spent a large portion of my life playing all different field positions. I believe that my confidence playing as more of a defensive, off-the-line keeper is something that sets me apart. I have no trouble using my feet, distributing the ball, and my favorite way to play keeper is aggressively and proactively. I love to work with my defense and maintain helpful communication at all times and form a bond with my team. My competitive drive, ability to take criticism, and ability to hold myself accountable are characteristics that have allowed me to succeed in athletics and academics. Academics are extremely important to me, I have a 4.6 GPA and am always working my hardest to exceed expectations. I aspire to major in sociology and go to graduate school to become a lawyer. Although that is my main priority I love to compete and I hope I will be able to continue competing at a college level in a sport that I am so passionate about.
