Personal Statement

I'm a 5'9" keeper starting keeper for Sacred Heart Academy High School and Black Watch WNY Premier Soccer Club 19U team. I am also an honor roll student who is truly looking forward to furthering my education at a quality college or university where I can develop and grow academically, personally, and athletically. I would love the opportunity to contribute to the overall success of both the soccer team and college in whatever capacity I am needed.

I have put considerable effort into improving my skills since first focusing on the keeper position at the age of 12. I have received year round goalie training from some of the top goalie coaches in WNY region for the past 5 years. If contacting my coaches they will consistently describe me as an intense and fearless competitor, very hard worker and extremely coachable. I love to play the game of soccer and I LOVE to practice. My high school teammates elected me as a captain of our Varsity team this year and if watching me play you will see that I'm a very positive and vocal leader from the keeper position. I pride myself on understanding the game and recognizing what the opposing offense are trying to accomplish so I can better direct my defense. As a keeper and team leader, I strive to make everyone around me better.  I have grown 9 inches since starting high school and I'm still growing and developing physically. I believe I have very sound keeper skills and good athleticism that continues to develop as I grow into my body. Outside of soccer, I regularly participate in volunteer work and will be making my second mission to El Salvador this year.  I am open to exploring options with larger or smaller colleges or universities. My father is a professor at D'Youville College and has access to both CIC and Tuition Exchange opportunities at over 650 universities. I am interested in health and sciences and behavior sciences.
