Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Victoria Herrera. I graduated High School in June, 2018, and i am currently playing at -Bryant Stratton College (USCAA).
My goal is to continue learning and growing as a student athlete at the collegiate level. I played the majority of my varsity career as a CAM/CDM. Creating space, opportunities for attacking players, providing defensive support and finishing. Some accomplishments include 3 MVP awards, being chosen for NYC's All-Star Soccer team (2018, #10), and graduating HSAB with the "NYC Public School Athletic League's" Senior Athlete award. Along with Soccer, I was a member of my schools Varsity Handball, and Varsity Table Tennis teams.
My varsity career was mostly in the midfield, I played mainly as a lateral (right wing or back) throughout my club career. With Panthers FC and Vera's Soccer academy. (2014-2018) Feeling just as, if not more comfortable in the right wing as a natural lefty. I would love a opportunity on as a lateral player, depending on the strengths and needs of my team and coach. I pride myself as a very coach-able player, willing to adapt to multiple positions on the field, and my coach or coaches may see fit. I am eager to learn and push myself to become a valuable part of any team I am in.
Through high school I majored in business, enrolled in 3 AP Classes, 6 Honors classes, and 3 College courses, with a 85 overall GPA and a 1170 SAT (retaking this December). I graduated with CTE Endorsement in business/entrepreneurship, Advanced Regents diploma, and as a member of the National Honor Society. Elected as class VP of my Virtual Enterprise program. Also one of 30 city students chosen for the NYC Career Development program, leading to a 8 week Finance internship, with MCNY.
Outside of schools and soccer, I have ran in Boston's "Spartan Race", finishing 2nd place in my age group, and am currently training for NYC's Half Marathon.
