Kaileen Townsend '16 Recruiting Profile

My childhood years have been spent with a sports ball attached to me, it was at a very young age when I discovered my love for sports.  Growing up I heard stories about some of my family members athletic successes. It was then that I set my first few goals. In soccer, my aunt holds the record for most career goals. Similarly, my grandfather was the first in our school to reach 1000 career basketball points. I set out to break both their records. To date, I am well on my way to exceeding both of these personal goals.

I started varsity play as an 8th grader in soccer, basketball, and softball. Since then, I have been a leader in all three. I encourage teammates and young players to establish goals. I lead by example, always giving 110%. Coaches have recognized and praised my hard work, coach-ability, and dedication year after year. I carry these same standards of excellence from sports to the classroom. I carry an average of 4.0 and am ranked 1 out of 34 students. Each year I am recognized for my academic achievements and positivity towards learning and others. I participate in high school band, and marching band. I volunteer assisting youth teams and spend summers working with animals.

As I dream of life after high school, I am excited to set new goals. I would love to play competitive soccer at the collegiate level. I desire to continue my academic success, achieving high standards. I would love to find a college and course of study where I can grow, be happy, and continue the next chapter of my life as a successful leader. I am open to all college options. I realize that college play is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I dream of this possibility and would be ecstatic to be provided with the chance to live out my next dreams.
