Sophia Denney '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sophia, I am born and raised in Berlin, Germany and am 17 years old. At home I first played on a boys team and then continued to play in the highest girls league of Northern Germany, playing for my club team 1.FFC Turbine Potsdam. I played there for at least six years, until i moved to NY to go to boarding school where I continue to play competitive Varsity Soccer, as well as with a Travel Team. I came to New York to be challenged academically, athletically, personally and to experience a different part of my high school career to then go to college and continue with strong academics along with competitive soccer. I strongly believe in my strength to strive for my goals and to try as hard as i I can to improve my soccer skills, fitness, keep my grades up, engage in extracurriculars, find time to work on my art projects, while maintaining my relationships with the people i love. 

I didn’t know where to fit this in the paragraph above so i will say it here: soccer is the one and only sport i’ve ever known to play and love the way I do to this day and has been my passion since day 1. It is my dream and and goal to thrive academically while playing competitive college soccer with and against many other talented girls.
