Ever since I was 5 years old, I have been playing soccer. I started in a town league training once a week and enjoying the game with my friends. I played on a travel team in the Westchester Youth Soccer League in third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades. I joined a premier club in 7th grade, realizing that I had to move on from playing with my friends to have the chance to continue to grow and thrive at the game I love.
Club soccer has taught me core values of teamwork, leadership, persistence and how to adjust and evaluate in a competitive environment.
My love and passion for the game has only grown stronger, and I have continued to seek out opportunities to challenge myself. I have come to realize that what I do off the field is just as important as on the field. This has led me to focus much more on my fitness and nutritional intake. It also led me to give up lacrosse and pursue track instead, which I thought would better complement my soccer training.
I am a versatile player who can perform at a high level at multiple positions, preferably at an attacking mid-field position or any spot on the attacking line. I am well conditioned and can easily run goal-to-goal for 90 minutes. While I am naturally right footed, I can dribble, pass and shoot with both feet. Making positive runs, creating space, and adding my own creativity helps make the game enjoyable for me.
I have the same level of commitment to my academics as I do to soccer, and I apply the same core values of leadership, tenacity and hard work to both. I am just as willing to put in extra hours at my desk as I put on the field to make sure I do my best and perform at my highest level.
