Makenzie Grant '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Makenzie Grant. I am a junior from New York. I have moved around a lot and have always found one thing that kept me grounded. Soccer. Soccer is not just a sport, it is a part of who I am. I aspire to continue playing throughout college. 

I’ve been playing soccer since I was 3 years old.  I have played other sports, like basketball, but soccer is my passion.  Playing premier league soccer since junior high, initially for Connecticut Football Club and now Dutch Elite, has been fundamental for my development.  I played on a travel team that moved up to premier in its last couple of seasons.  The highlight of that team was traveling to Spain to participate in the Donosti Cup the summer of 2018.  I am primarily a goalkeeper.  I love the position, but I have experience at center and outer back as well as on occasion playing striker depending on team needs. 

I am looking forward to continuing the game that is me in college.  I am looking at criminology and/or social work academically, but honestly, do not have concrete plans for a field of study.  What I do know is that I want the team comradery that I have learned to love.  I want to find that balance between academics and athletics like I have in high school and continue to learn and grow as a student athlete.  I look forward to finding the right team/school for me!
