My name is Elizabeth Shawn and I am member of the class of 2020 at Scarsdale High School in Scarsdale, NY. I began playing club soccer when I was about six, originally for the Scarsdale Youth Soccer Club in the Westchester Youth Soccer League, more recently for New York Surf G’02 Westchester in EDP/NYCSL, and now for New York Xtreme F.C. I also play for my high school varsity team. My primary position is striker but when I first started playing soccer up until I was in U13 I split time as a forward and as a goalie. This experience turned out to be helpful because in 2017 the goalie for my club team quit right before the season started and I had to play goalie for almost half of our games.
I am a strong physical player and believe I would make great addition to any team. I have always been the type of player who can score goals and create chances for my teammates but also defend against the opposing team as they try to bring the ball out from the back. I am interested in continuing to play soccer in college because I enjoy the competition as well as being part of a team. I believe that participating in team activities will help me form new friendships as I start in a new school. I have always been a starter for my club but I am prepared to compete for a position and for playing time.
I am not sure yet what I want to study in college. Some areas that interest me are environmental science, film production and digital media. When I am not playing soccer l like to ski and in ninth grade I was on the varsity ski team and made All League in Section I without ever having raced before.
Thank you for looking at my profile.
