Shanty Hawke '13 Recruiting Profile

I have a passion for playing soccer. As an individual, I love to achieve my own personal goals on the field. My experience with the sport has brought to my attention they aren’t the only ones. Team goals such as an undefeated season, leagues or even sectionals are undoubtedly some of the greatest achievements ever. This I know because together, my team has won leagues 3 consecutive years in a row and also been undefeated in our league since 2009. We have a quote we painted on our kick wall this year by Henry Ford and it says “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” It is our team motto and I strongly believe that any team willing to work that hard can have that as their motto as well. My height is 5 ft. 5 in. and I weigh around 130 lbs. When it comes to quickness, I obtain a good fast speed, especially when I know it’s needed. I have been playing soccer for a little over 6 years and as an individual I am proud of my skills although, I do know there is always room for improvement. Throughout my entire soccer career I can easily say my best memories are team bonding, coming together and winning leagues 3 straight years in a row and making a statement. Just because we are a small school, doesn’t mean we don’t have the athletic ability to become champions. This we have proven to everyone. As a junior, my top three most memorable moments as an individual were scoring a hattrick of headers and making a record in my school, scoring the winning goal of a tough overtime league game and also scoring the only goal in our sectional game last season against Kendall. *^I am re-editing my personsal statement adding updated information from this year, so please bear with me as I continue editing!
