Personal Statement
My name is Kaylee Rochon. I am entering my junior (high school) this year at Carmel Christian School, in Charlotte, NC. I have been playing soccer since I was 4. I have always had a passion for the sport, and my dream is to continue to play throughout my college years. I am a determined and persistent person, with a very teachable attitude. I love to tackle a new challenge or skill and then take that into a game. I am a quick learner and feel that I will continue to improve my game over the next several years in high school. I am very competitive, but also kind and respectful to coaches, my teammates, and even the competing team. I can be a bit reserved at times personally, quiet and an observer. I like to process before speaking or responding. I have been told by coaches that I have a high athletic IQ, and see the field in a way that makes me a valuable player. I am continuing to learn each season what to improve on, and value and respect the coaching that I have been influenced by.
Academically, I am a hard worker. This year I had goals to ge try GPA up past 3.5, however, with Covid and having to learn via distance learning, unfortunately my GPA was not what I was hoping for. But I am determined to get back to it my Junior year and get it up again. I really try to put in the work and effort in my academics and on the field and in training. I have high standards for myself in all areas for life, academically, athletically, and morally. My faith is a big part of who I am.
I'm excited to see where soccer will take me in the future, as I study Sports Management. My dream job would be to be a sports photographer, but also open to other careers where sports management would take me.
