My goals to finish out high school are to be a well rounded student athlete with a strong college prep background. In college, my goal is to focus on my academics, opportunities on the soccer field, and time management. I became interested in soccer at a very young age. My parents signed me up for soccer when I was three years old, and by the age of six, I was playing club soccer. Through playing soccer, I have learned to begin to succeed in anything, it takes a lot of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I have learned nothing is going to come easy, and you have to find something about yourself to set you apart from your peers. Finally, I have learned you are not going to be good at everything, but you should always continue to get better, and to keep working and focusing on the things in which you are successful in, while continuing to improve on challenges. This could apply to anything in life. Challenges I have overcome to get to where I am now include my dad being in the military and being gone for multiple deployments, for months at a time. With this, I helped my mom with keeping up with my sister, and essentially grew up faster, all while excelling both in academics and on the soccer field. Additionally, my dad went into sudden cardiac arrest when I was thirteen years old. It created uncertainty at home and for the future. Although he lived, it created a different dynamic within the household. Ultimately, what sets me apart from my peers is my strong work ethic, I am a self-starter, and very disciplined.
