I began playing soccer when I was three years old in my town's local youth soccer league. When I turned eight, I began playing on a travel team, and then when I was thirteen I decided that I wanted to play at a more competitive level. I tried out, and made, a team under Keystone Soccer Academy/Penns Forest Football Club. My freshman year of high school, I earned a starting position as forward and led my team as the top scorer (23 goals, 10 assists). My sophomore year, I continued as the starting forward and once again was my team's leading scorer (18 goals, 9 assists). In addition, I was voted team captain by my teammates. Soccer has taught me to be a leader, and to work hard to achieve my goals. Through both the ups and the downs, soccer has evolved me into a person who never gives up and always strives to be better than I was yesterday.
I am always up for a challenge. I believe that I can always be better, and I always expect better from myself. This drive not only is shown on the field, but also in the classroom. I understand the importance of maintaining good grades, and balancing both academics and athletics. My sophomore year, I enrolled in my first AP class (AP US History) because I wanted to push myself in my education. I earned a 5 on the final exam. Currently, I am enrolled in two more AP classes (Ap Government and Politics and AP Language and Composition) for the same reason as before. I never want to settle for average. Whether it is on the field, or in the classroom, I am always looking for ways that I can better myself.
