Personal Statement
I began playing soccer when I was only three years old. Every year since I have fallen more and more in love with this great sport. My dream to play college soccer has been growing larger and larger as well. I realize this goal will take determination, effort, and sacrifice to achieve. I am willing to do whatever is deemed necessary to achieve this goal and step on the field in a college uniform.
I have been playing goalkeeper since the age of 9. My coach decided to throw me in for a game and I came out and told my parents that this is the position I want to play all the time. I love the constant action that is involved, whether I am facing shots or my team has possession of the ball. I focus on communication as I can see the whole field from my position and can be of great assistance to my teammates. I am good at reading the field and knowing where to tell my defenders to be before the play happens. I pride myself on being very coachable and welcome instruction from my coaches to better my skillset and understanding of the game.
In the classroom I work hard and treat my teachers the same as I do my coaches, with the utmost respect. I look forward to hearing what they have to tell me so that I can broaden my knowledge. I currently am carrying a 3.97 GPA and plan on studying Exercise and Sports Sciences or Physical Therapy when I attend college.
While I desire to play at the highest level of competition, ultimately I am open to all options when it comes to my college career. I would like to find a college that is a good fit and will challenge me both athletically and academically. I aspire to become a successful student, athlete, and role model for all around me.
