Personal Statement
Hi! I’m Adalyn or as all my friends and family know me, Addie.
I began soccer when I was 4 years old after watching my older sister play. I fell in love with the sport and picked it up very quickly. Soccer has taught me that I am very competitive. I have also learned that sometimes you need a break from life and soccer does that for me. No matter if it’s just outside in my yard, by myself kicking a ball around, or a hard game; soccer is my happiness. It has helped me tremendously with who I am today.
I have had to overcome a pretty big obstacle. My 8th grade year I had knee surgeries on both my knee caps. I had to quit for a year. It was the hardest thing I have ever done. But, I worked my tail off in physical therapy to get myself back. I pushed everyday. I wanted to give up, but I told myself that was never going to be an option. My first year back was a little rocky, but now, I’m better than I’ve ever been. I know I am stronger mentally and physically because of the experience.
My academic goals for high school and college are to keep my grades as high as I possibly can by trying my best. My grades have always been important to me, my older sister showed me that. My competitive nature pushes me to do whatever it takes to keep them up. I am currently taking concurrent classes and have already started my path towards being an accountant while in high school.
I am so glad you took the time to learn a little about me.
