Hello, my name is Ashley Smith. I am very happy and appreciative that you took the time to read and consider my profile as a possible recruit. I am eighteen years old, 5'4', and 165 pounds. My goal is to be the first in my family to go to college to play women's soccer. I am looking for a college that will let me excel in academics, soccer, and to let me be myself. My position that I would love to play is goalkeeper, but I will play where ever I am needed. Some of my accomplishments are I have made is All-Districts my freshman year (2010), sophomore year (2011), and junior year (2012). I have been to the Kick-It 3-v-3 Soccer World Championships in Orlando, Florida four times. I recently went to the January 2012 tournament and took Third Place. Soccer has been a very successful sport for me, and I hope I can continue that success. My high school coaches have a saying when we work out, or lift weights when the students complain, they tell us to "be coachable" and I try to live up to that. I try not to complain because I know that they are just trying to make us better athletes and make us a better player and person. I also try to help the coaches in any way I can such as helping put up equipment. Also as a personal note I come from a low-middle class family that doesn't have much financially so funds is low when it comes to college. However, that doesn’t stop me from trying my best in everything I do. I keep my head high and keep on going. Academically, I have been successful too. I have a 4.0 GPA. I am a member of the National Honor Society, Educational Talent Search, D-FY, and 4-H. I am currently enrolled in the OK-Promise or also known as OHLAP. Thank you again for taking the time to read my profile and consider me as a possible recruit.
