One of my main goals in college is to study music, and hopefully secure a start in a career in music performance. I am a hard worker, and am involved in many extracurricular activities. I have a deep love for soccer that faced challenges my junior year of high school. A string of injuries made play impossible. In that time, I contributed more to band and choir, serving in leadership positions for both, as well as my academics and my church. That year I put more into my vocal music and won sixth place at the state vocal solo competition. I also volunteer at a program that provides low-impact soccer lessons to kids with developmental disabilities that prevent them from playing in a club. I was led to volunteering in this capacity by my experience volunteering with my father at a camp for adults with developmental disabilities throughout my younger years. Three years of experience with these younger players have meant so much to me, helping me to appreciate the gifts brought to this world by these individuals, and have led me to consider a career in special education. In addition, when my high school was going to be rebuilt, I led a campaign to secure single stall gender neutral bathrooms in the new building. I am a quick learner, a hard worker and one prone to compassion and prioritizing what is best for the people around me.
