McKenna Barnum ‘13 Recruiting Profile

Personal Statement

Hello,

     My name is McKenna Barnum, I am currently a Junior at Saint Mary's High School in Medford, Oregon and soccer is my passion! I am 5'6 and I weigh 135 pounds.  In 2010 I was selected for the All Conference Honorable Mention for Defense, for the Skyline Conference. In 2011 I was selected First Team All Conference for Defense. I have made the starting lineup for our Varsity team every year. For the past two years my team has been Conference champions. My Sophomore year we were the State Runner Ups. This year we recently finished our season by making it to the semi-finals.

I have played competitve soccer since fourth grade, and played on Rogue Valley's traveling winter team for 3 years. I have been a Co-Captain for 2 years for the RVSC winter traveling team. Currently I am on a U-17 College Showcase Team from Klamath Falls, and the U-17 RVSC Winter team.

St. Mary's is a College Prep school and has rigorous academics. I have an excellent work ethic especially when it comes to keeping my grades up. One of my dreams is to play college soccer, I would like to stay on the West Coast , in a smaller school,  but am open to looking at larger universities in other areas.

I am interested in Biology, particularly Marine Biology. I am hoping to combine student loans with a soccer scholarship to reach my goals and they are:



1) Marine Biology degree and 2) Play Collegiate Soccer
