Personal Statement
As an outside back/midfielder at Westview High School, I am a starter. I have had a successful high school season scoring multiple goals and assists in addition to strong defensive support. I play year-round club soccer for Bridge City Soccer Academy and have been playing at the club level for many years. I have strength and speed on the field and can contribute in both the outside back and wing position. I am a team leader on and off the field and can read the field well. I work hard outside of practices doing extra strength and conditioning and getting one-on-one coaching to continue my growth as a player. I also participate in track with my specialty being the 800.
Academics have always been very important to me. I have maintained a weighted GPA of over 4.0 even with the challenges of distance learning and plan to maintain that level of excellence throughout my senior year while taking a strong course load including several advanced classes with hopes of a future in law. In addition to high school and soccer, I have also volunteered at the Children’s Book Bank, a non-profit in Portland, which gives books to kids who have no books in their home and am a volunteer coach for the younger girls at my club. I work at my local minor league baseball stadium in the pro-shop, and a soccer camp counselor, am involved in Student Government and have served as a peer tutor.
I am dedicated on and off the soccer field and am always striving to be the best I can be. I am ready to accept the challenges of being a student athlete and am confident I would be a positive addition to your team as well as a strong student at your university. I am passionate about a future in college soccer and appreciate your consideration.
