I've always been interested in soccer, but never started playing on a team until last year, which was my freshman year of high school. Coming from a small school, we never had a significant amount of players. But, the year before, 9 seniors graduated, leaving us with only 13 players total. Of course every player may say something along the lines of "I'm a hard worker", but i can say i truly learned the value of playing hard for a full 80 minutes since I really didn't have a choice of coming off the field. The most important value i learned was teamwork. You could be the best player out there, but if you don't work well with your teammates, it means nothing. So, it's easy to say my first year of playing varsity soccer shaped me as a player.
As a student athlete, i have many aspirations. As an athlete, one is the team making playoffs soon. I truly believe we can, if we push ourselves to the next level. As a student, it's maintaining my grades, and taking as many AP classes as possible. I push myself hard in school, because of the fact that I want to play at the collegiate level. As long as I've been in a sport, I've wanted to play in college. I genuinely think it is the right choice for me.
