Personal Statement
One of my goals for a long time has been to play a game that I love at the highest level possible. Another of my goals, for almost as long, has been to help those physically in need as a Doctor, perhaps a surgeon or a pediatric oncologist.
Since I decided that is what I wanted, I’ve done whatever I can to try to accomplish those goals. Most of the time that has required me to outwork people. If it was about soccer, it meant to out hustle, outcompete, out train, outwork others. If it was about my school work, it meant to out-study, , out-prepare, outwork others. There are classmates who are more intelligent than me, but I consistently have better grades than them. There are athletes who are more talented than me but don’t have the same success on the field.
I am confident that I will outperform collegiate student athletes more talented than me; I am equally as confident that I will outperform other students in my collegiate classes that have greater intelligence than me. I am confident that my willingness to outwork people will make me a better doctor someday.
