Hello coaches, my name is Kendel Cottrell and I will graduate with the class of 2025. I play center defender, as well as several attacking positions for Garnet Valley High School and 1776 United FC.
From academics to the field, I am relentless, dedicated, and hard-working. In the classroom, I am a straight-A student, maintaining a 4.0 unweighted GPA and a 4.17 weighted GPA through my participation in honors and AP courses. I take my academics very seriously, as well as my involvement in my community through a variety of leadership roles. On the field, I am a true team player, putting the needs of the team above all else and playing any position so that I can change the course of a game. I am versatile, communicative, and respectful of my teammates and coaches. My drive to improve has shaped me into a coachable player who always welcomes feedback and constructive criticism. I look to be the best version of myself and am willing to put in the work that it takes to achieve that. This internal drive and motivation is what sets me apart and makes me an integral component of any team. I hope to continue playing soccer in college because it has been a way for me to better myself, build relationships with teammates, and learn crucial life skills. I believe I can make a difference on any team I play for.
My sport and my education are both extremely important to me, and I hope to continue my soccer journey at a college that provides both an academic and athletic challenge.
