Soccer has positively changed my life. Ever since I was in preschool, I have been playing and enjoying soccer. Soccer motivates me to get through the day and to work out frustrations. It has allowed me to build valuable lasting friendships. One of my favorite parts related to soccer is the fitness and exercising aspect to the sport that improves my mental status and physical well being. During the season, I run two miles everyday, I lift weights and perform drills. All of these activities calms my mind and brings forth endurance and strength for every day life as well as at game time. I work hard outside of season as well, to stay in shape. For example, I ran for Trojan Track Club the past two years which led me to opportunity, winning medals and qualifying for large events. I participated in the USA Track and Field Nationals in North Carolina in 2018 and qualified for the Nationals in California in 2019. Participating in heavy competition taught me endurance, agility and mental skills that has kept me in mental and physical shape for the upcoming soccer seasons.
My coaches would agree that I am a hard worker and big contributor to the success of my teams. Before high school season as a freshman, I connected with my new team members, crafted my own practice drills to improve touches, attended most practices, and arranged and attended team- bonding events. These habits have continued into present day. I also continually keep a positive presence and positively encourage my teammates to personally connect and motivate others. I excel at many field positions which allows for more variety and opportunity for both myself and the team. Even though my main position is right back, I excel at center mid and even left or right mid field.
I have many soccer and academic goals. I intend to find a school that will have Sports Medicine or related programs for my future career. I intend to excel academically for the courses that are required. I currently have a weighted 4.0 GPA and hope to have a similar GPA in college. My collegiate soccer goals include soccer playing time, new friendships, and continued fitness. Soccer has always had a positive impact on my physical and mental well being.
