I feel I changed the most as a soccer player when my club team received a new coach. Up until she came, I was only learning the basics of my position as center back and of soccer in general. Now I see a new perspective of the game. I learned how important it is to be a strong, vocal leader in the back and that it isn't enough to just show up to two practices a week. She taught us that you have to work hard, put in extra time, and really absorb what she was teaching us. Because of my new coach, I feel I've grown into a better all around player who is capable of playing at the collegiate level.
When I first started playing soccer as a peewee, I could never imagine not playing the sport. It's safe to say that after many years, I still agree. Soccer has not only taught me the value of teamwork and leadership, but it has also taught me to be confident in myself and making mistakes is part of the game, as long as you learn from them. This has helped in soccer as well as in life, especially in school. My education is very important to me and that's why I am looking for a program that will suit me well in both my academics and athletics. I strive to do my best, am always ready to learn, and I believe I could make an impact on your program.
