Madelyn Black '23 Recruiting Profile

I fell in love with the game of soccer since the first time my foot touched a ball at 4 years of age.   I have played premier-level soccer since I was 8 years old, for club and eventually for my state with the ODP program and for the US East Region ODP.  This game has taken me throughout the US and Europe to play matches and at camps against top competition and has built a network of memories, friends and coach relationships that I cherish.  I believe the discipline of the sport has made me a leader in life and at school, and has taught me lessons of determination, hard-work, teamwork and time management.  I am known on the field for my speed, aggressiveness and tactical understanding of the game.  I am able to morph my game to fit the style needed to overcome an opponent - I can finish clinically, make the key cross to set up my teammates or technically control the ball when the game demands it.  I work hard outside of practice to keep myself fit and work with a trainer every week to increase my explosiveness.  I have lofty goals for myself to be an impact player for a top collegiate program, while also excelling in my intended major of Accounting, with a goal to obtain my CPA.  Someday, when my playing days are behind me, I plan to use my physical fitness and education to pursue a job at the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
