Kherington Yezik '27 Recruiting Profile

I am a versatile, vocal and high-IQ multi-sport athlete with a high work rate on both offense and defense. As team captain and starting holding midfielder for FC Delco ECNL 2009, I lead my team in minutes, keep my team organized in our formations, anchor the defense and initiate the offense.  I also regularly get called up to play with my club's FC Delco ECNL 2008 team. Strength on-ball, winning 50/50 balls, clean first touch and long through passes and over the top balls to break lines and create scoring chances are all specialties. But I also have edge of box finishing skills, take set pieces and corners, and am asked to finish in the box when we need a goal. Several years as a defensive back provided me with a strong defensive mindset and also helped me to see the entire field and understand player positioning.  Our North Atlantic ECNL conference is among the most competitive in the country at our age, providing the opportunity to play against high profile clubs like 2023 National Champs PDA (Legacy Blue), Pipeline, Matchfit Academy and Penn Fusion. Playing soccer since age 4 and travel club soccer since age 6, I have played in some of the most competitive U.S. leagues and tournaments, including SuperCopa, JeffCup, WAGS, Las Vegas Mayors Cup, ODP Interregional and National events, and ECNL showcases.

High School Soccer: Our HS program has won 5 straight PIAA District XI Championship (Class 3A x 2; Class 2A x 3), and went undefeated in our League reclaiming the League Championship this season. We also made our deepest run in school history to PIAA State playoff semifinalists, losing to the 2-time defending state champions. On this run, and as a freshman I started all 25 games at attacking or holding midfielder, scoring 10 goals (2 game winners) and adding 14 assists.

Multi-Sport Athlete: I currently enjoy playing soccer and futsal and will be running track in Spring 2024. My futsal team has placed as high as 2nd at US Futsal Regionals and we have placed first in over a dozen regional futsal events over the last few years.  I am currently taking a break from basketball this winter after playing 5 years of AAU and school basketball. I was a starting small forward / combination guard for my middle school basketball team (undefeated both seasons) and for my AAU team where I was awarded "Most Coachable Player" and "Best Defender".  

Academics: As I evaluate college opportunities, I am remaining open-minded about declaring a major and remain open to an experience at any of the DI, DII, DIII levels. I want my college experience to be balanced academically, socially and athletically, as much as possible.
