I’ve always been “sporty”-- ever since I could stand upright, I have hiked, run, skied, snowboarded, skateboarded, ridden horses, and played lacrosse, high-dove, and run track- many at a competitive level. Through it all though, my first and greatest love has been soccer.
I started playing soccer the first year I could, when I was six. My best friend was on my rec team, and her dad was the coach… we still play together, both on our high school teams (we both made the varsity squads as freshmen) and for the same club, to this day. I love the game. When I’m not playing, I am thinking of the next match. I also watch soccer at both the local university and I passionately follow a Premier League club.
I run track, and I am on my high school records boards for my times in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 4x100m and 4x400m relays. My relay teams have finished in the top ten in the Pennsylvania State Championships (and have had many other successes) since I earned a varsity spot as a freshman… but I mostly run to improve my speed and stay in shape for soccer. I start the first leg of the relays because I am so explosive off the blocks, which benefits me in soccer as well.
I’m more than just a ‘fierce competitor’ as I take as much pride in my academics as I do my sporting activities. I have taken honors, advanced honors, and AP courses throughout high school. I am still not completely sure of what I want to pursue as a major in college, but I am interested in a field of study that will allow me to combine my interests and strengths, such as fields which blend engineering and materials with design.
Community service is important to me and my family. I currently volunteer at the SPCA. I also love the ukulele (although I‘m not winning any awards for my skill here). I also cultivate succulent plants and paint as a way to relax , and I love hiking with my rescue dog.
It is my hope that you will review my film and/or watch me play. I think you will find that I have a strong desire to win the ball and drive it to goal. I’m tough and fast and read the game well. I look forward to the opportunity to speak with you further.
