Overall, my dream for the near future is to attend a university where I am going to be challenged to reach my full potential academically and athletically. I have always been enthusiastic about learning; I was never one of those kids who absolutely hated going to school everyday. I worked hard, making sure that I understood everything that was presented to me, and luckily my hard work has paid off. As a high school junior, I have a high GPA, class rank, and ACT score. I am also taking multiple AP courses, challenging myself to learn as much as I possibly can. I believe that these qualities that I have developed will help me greatly in college when my abilities are put to the test.
However, I want to succeed athletically as well as academically. I have been playing as a defender nearly my entire soccer career (starting at age 4) and over all that time, I have been trained to think, act, and play a certain way. As a center back, I recognize that I play in a position where mistakes are not forgiven, and so I look to find the safest option, present myself as an option at an angle, and clear the ball out of dangerous areas. I also am aware that I am responsible for communicating with my teammates and making sure that everyone is where they need to be. With all of the training that I have been given over the years and the skills that I have developed, I believe that I would be successful in a competitive environment with others who have the same love for the game that I do.
Off the field, I strive to be the best possible person I can be. I love making others smile and getting to know the people around me. Especially in the world we live in today, I know that a simple compliment can go a long way, so I aim to take every opportunity to make a difference in someone's day. Additionally, my ultimate goal in life is to make my family, friends, and everyone else in my life proud of me by working hard to be the best version of myself in my academics, athletics, and character. I look forward to the future for I know that it will be a good one!
