Personal Statement
I starting playing soccer at age 4 in a local rec league. Like many girls my age, I watched the US Women's National team win the 2012 Olympics in London, and I knew from that point on that I wanted to play competitive soccer. By age 9, I was playing club soccer on the premier team.
I am a junior, graduating in 2022. I play up on the '02-'03 Lady Lobos Rush Premier team. I was a starter on the 2019 Division 1 Tennessee state champions, was invited to participate in the 2017 and 2018 National League, won the Southern Regional Premier League for 2017 and 2018, and was a finalist in the 2018 Southern Regional Championship. I have been named Rookie of the Year and Midfielder of the Year on my Houston High School varsity soccer team, where I am a starting midfielder. I traveled with the team to Manchester, England where we trained at Manchester City FC. We were back to back Class AAA Tennessee State Champions.
I am hard working, competitive, and a fast learner. There are no ECNL or DA clubs in my area, so I try to take advantage of every opportunity to train and showcase my skills. I have been a participant with ODP for several years, where I was selected for the Region III player pool and attended the National ODP training camp. I have also been selected to the national Rush Select XI team the past 4 years and have traveled to college showcases as well as Italy and Switzerland with the team to train and compete.
I want my college experience to push and challenge me, both athletically and academically. I want to travel, experience other cultures, and possibly study foreign relations. Academically, I try to take classes that will best position me to succeed at college, including multiple honors and AP courses. I am open to the size and location of my college, but I know that the quality of soccer and academics at the school will be a major factor in my decision.
