Personal Statement
As a multi-sport athlete attending a demanding academic college preparatory school, holding down a part time job and giving many hours of service to my community, I believe I demonstrate a level of maturity and responsibility that will allow me to thrive at the collegiate level, both academically and athletically. After earning the “Most Improved Player” award my freshman year as a field player, my high school coach asked if I would be willing to play goalkeeper the next season. Although reluctant at first because I really enjoyed playing in the field, I was willing to do whatever the team needed me to do. It was then I discovered how much I loved the position, and at that point I was all in! Because I started so late, I understand I now have to work harder than any other keeper to be able to play at the next level and I demonstrate I am completely willing to do so. Along with being a three-year varsity player of my school’s soccer team, I play club soccer, work with a private goalkeeper coach, and train with a private speed and agility coach. For any collegiate program who is looking for a hard working, responsible, athletic young lady who has a very high ceiling at the goalkeeper position, I look forward to the opportunity to bring all of these qualities to your team.
