I became interested in my sport around three to four years old and I have played since. My dad put me on his team when I was younger, and from there I wanted to continue to play soccer. When I got a little older, I joined other teams and I stayed with one team for about four years. I loved being on the team at first, however the environment turned negative and took the joy from the sport for me. I contemplated walking away from the sport, though my parents convinced me to go and try out for another coach and just play one more year and see how it goes. I took their advice, tried out for another team, and made the team. My new coach helped me fall back in love with soccer again. That experience taught me that I just need to keep going because no matter what, if I put my heart into it, then nothing can stop me.
My family and friends have influenced who I am because they push and inspire me every day to do better than I did the day before. I have learned through my sport even if you have that one negative energy hanging over your life or day, all it takes is a higher positive energy to break that and make your day better. I have learned though my sport no matter what, you need to get back up and keep going, even if it takes you longer at times, just keep pushing because there are others that need your help.
My academic goals for high school are to pass my classes with at least a 90, but I would prefer them to be a 95 or above. I strive to do the same in college.
