Personal Statement
Playing soccer has been my passion since I was 3 years old. I love being part of a team and growing together on and off the field with my teammates. I started playing club soccer when I was in Kindergarten and have generally played year-round for 10+ years. In addition to playing club soccer, I enjoy playing for my high school which has one of the most successful 5A soccer programs in Texas-winning 7 State Championships. I am a strong and balanced student-athlete with a great work ethic. On the field, I take pride in my technical abilities with the ball while constantly maintaining spatial awareness, my quickness and agility with great balance, my composure during adverse situations, and my coachability due to my willingness to constantly improve. Off the field, I am a diligent student and maintain a 3.9 GPA. I also volunteer at various philanthropies and the most rewarding is assisting a Special Olympics Basketball Team of students that go to my high school. It is so fulfilling to see them improve and so fun to see them in the hallways at school. In college, I want to study Exercise Science or Kinesiology and then apply to Physical Therapy school. My goal is to be a physical therapist and work with traumatic brain injury patients because of a personal experience watching my cousin overcome and recover from a traumatic brain injury.
I'm excited about continuing my soccer career at the collegiate level. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I have the talent to compete at the highest level and am confident that I will make an immediate impact with your program.
