Personal Statement

I'm Piper Slavin and I've been playing soccer for 9 years. I've played on the Houston Dash competitive teams for 4 years. And, I currently play for 2 competitive Houston DASH teams this season. I’m also a Club Pass Player, and guest on other teams when requested. In addition, I am the starting center forward on my 6A high school JV team at Clear Springs High School. Soccer is my passion and I'm excited to take my skills to the collegiate level. I am naturally athletic and have also played on my school volleyball team. Soccer is my passion and I have a drive to get better every time I step on the field. I primarily play in the center forward position, and I also play attacking mid fielder and center back. I'll play any position my coach needs me in because I love the sport and I always want to be a critical part of the team's success. My career goal is to become a trauma nurse and I’m currently enrolled in the Certified Nurse Assistant program at my high school.

STX Texas State Cup

The South Texas State Cup, part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series, is the highest level of competition in the South Texas Spring Cup Series. It is an open entry competition for top Division I teams. Top Division I teams are typically defined as teams playing in the National League, Frontier Conference or SCL. The competition is open to 11U to 19U boys and girls teams that played in a South Texas Qualifying League.

I-10 Shootout

This year the tournament has expanded to eight varsity brackets. The I-10 Shootout will host 64 Varsity teams and 48 Junior Varsity teams representing all four Texas UIL regions with approximately 2240 student-athletes participating in this three-day event. Bracket games are played at the eight Katy ISD campuses and the championship from each Varsity bracket will be played at either Legacy or Rhodes Stadium in Katy, TX.

The College Coaches Showcase Camp is designed for high school soccer players that want to work directly with college coaches on the field. The event is for players who are focused on becoming prospective student-athletes and want to showcase their skills. Players will be taken through a series of drills to work on proper fundamentals of the game. Coaches spend quality time with players and provide instruction & evaluations of players.

The Camp to attend if you’re in high school and looking to be a successful college soccer player in the near future. This camp is a physically challenging and rewarding camp that exposes the player to the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological challenges for top players at the college level. Current college coaches from a variety of universities around the country are on staff. On Field and Classroom sessions are directed by the Texas A&M coaches and include activities used by the Texas A&M Soccer Program.

The Directors Cup is a restricted-entry competition for 11U through 19U teams that participated in DDL White (Eastern District) or WDDOA Challenger (Western District), or lower, or Member Association Leagues. South Texas reserves the right to place teams in a different competition, dependent on their seasonal league results.
