Personal Statement
Hi Coaches! My name is Berklee McAllister and I am a 2025 graduate at Prosper High School. I play for Solar SC under Coach Sal Adames and played for his FDL/ECRL team for 4 years before joining his ECNL team in 2023. Prior to playing for Coach Sal, I played under Solar Coach Charles Byars for 4 years in FDL, NPL and Lake Highlands D1. My pre-academy years were under Coach Matt Springate at Liverpool FC. I've learned so much at each point throughout my club soccer career and I am grateful for every coach, teammate and experience. I am a very fast, physical and vocal player on the pitch and I am versatile as well. I love being involved in the attack from outside back but transition back to defense seamlessly when needed. In 2022, I faced adversity with a reoccurring shoulder injury and after playing through multiple front and back shoulder dislocations, I had shoulder reconstruction surgery in mid July of 2022. During my recovery I found my identity off the pitch and identified my strengths and weaknesses, both on and off the field. Since returning to play I've been applying what I learned on the pitch and made something positive from that forced time off. Being off the field for 7 months was extremely hard emotionally, but returning to the sport I adore was truly the best reward.
I am looking to continue both my academic and athletic career at the collegiate level. Having played on the 2021 USYS National Championship, the 2023 USYS National Finalist and the 2022 Dallas Cup Champion teams and among some of the top players in North Texas on Prosper High school's Varsity team as a Freshman, Sophomore and Junior, I have been well prepped for what it takes to succeed while playing at a high level. My mental and performance strength is at its strongest as a result of the playing opportunities I’ve been afforded. I am a leader and my teammates look to me for guidance on and off the field and this means everything to me! I am looking for a college team that is very competitive yet welcoming with a fun and diverse campus environment. I plan to major in Pre-Med or Biology with the goal to be an orthopedic surgeon eventually.
