My name is Sydney Herbert, I attend San Angelo Central High School (6A) in San Angelo ,TX. I earned the District Honorable Mention Award in a Covid shortened season my freshman year. I have been playing soccer since I was 5, when I was younger I was a forward. I didn't start playing as a goalkeeper until 8th grade. At that time our club goalkeeper quit, so I stepped up into a new position, the goalkeeper. The process was easy and with a few training sessions I was a natural. I grew up playing club soccer since 6th grade. Soccer has pushed me to be a better person on and off the field. I have learned to be relentless and to be dedicated. I enjoy everything about the game of soccer. I enjoy strength training even enough to get up weekly at 5 AM with a personal trainer. I have grown stronger, increased my quickness, and improved my vertical jump. The start of my high school season in 2021, I sprained my thumb. The recovery pushed me physically and mentally to improve my game. I am a strong leader on the pitch and off, I constantly encourage my teammates to be the best they can be. Soccer has been my life since I was 5 years old and I would love the opportunity to play in college.
