Personal Statement
I didn't start playing soccer until I was almost 12 years old. Prior to playing soccer, I ran cross country and track for 7 years. I have excelled immensely in the short years I've been playing soccer. My grandpa immigrated to the USA from Samoa in the 70s, and I would be the first college soccer player from my immediate family if I was given a chance to play. It would be a dream come true to play college soccer. Because I didn't start soccer until later in life, I have had to work twice as hard as most girls to achieve my goal of being a college soccer player. I know that I will bring that same work ethic and passion to any college program.
My greatest attribute is I am a leader on and off the field. I currently have a 3.98 out of 4.0 GPA, have been volunteering at the local homeless shelter (mostly every week) for the last year and a half, have been a leader in scoring and assists in DPL and in my local Utah Club, served in multiple areas in my church, and I strive to be a great example to people in the community.
I am looking for colleges that can help me excel at being a student-athlete. I cannot be a good athlete without looking for a college that will push me academically. I hope that by playing soccer at the highest levels - I can demonstrate that with hard work on perseverance - anyone can achieve their dreams whether it be on or off the field.
