Personal Statement
My name is Shelby Nelson. I love the game of soccer, but education is also important to me. I was awarded the academic all-star award for playing a varsity sport and having a 4.0 for all of high school. I have been playing soccer for a long time. Soccer drives me to do better in all aspects of my life. I know that no matter how good I am I can always improve on something. My biggest competitor is probably myself. I want to play to the best of my ability, not just go down to someone else's level. I hope to become a surgeon when I get older. Soccer has taught me how to put in the work to get what you want. It's like the saying says, "You get what you work for"
