I realized just how important soccer was to me when I broke my collar bone and was out of the game for 5 weeks. This was the longest and hardest 5 weeks of my life due to the fact that I had to watch my team practice and play without me being involved. I cried tears of joy when the doctor released me back to the game! Soccer has had a huge impact on my life since I was 8 years old. I have learned so much from the game including teamwork, leadership, perseverance, hard-work, and being coachable. Soccer has also given me amazing relationships with coaches and teammates.
I am very excited for college and all the opportunities and experiences that come with it. I am looking forward to studying elementary education. I have a passion for kids and look forward to teaching and possibly coaching them in the future. I volunteer regularly with kids in different organizations. Academics are very important to me as well; however, soccer is a part of who I am, and I can't imagine college without it.
