Personal Statement
My name is Brenda Sola and I have been passionate about soccer since my parents introduced me to the sport at a young age. My parents have been helping me get better at soccer. I have participated in clubs and Mexican league which have helped me become better skilled and smart. I have also been working on my own playing with friends so I can improve and at the same time help my friends to get better as well. During my spare time I like to learn about soccer by reading books about soccer. They have a lot of good information that so far has helped me to learn more of the sport from what I already know. Watching games from professional soccer players is something that I do as well. A few things I have done besides soccer: maintaining my grades, working and participating in other sports. During my freshman year I played both junior varsity and varsity. I played goalkeeper in junior varsity and left midfielder in varsity. During my sophomore year I played the same positions even though the pandemic had been an obstacle we found ways to overcome it and have a full season. So some coaches who may be seeing the two positions I am in may be concerned about it but for college soccer I will be committing to only one position. In the meanwhile I am going to be playing both while I am still in high school. If I had to pick on position to commit to it would be being a midfielder. Something that I would say that makes me stand out from other soccer athletes is that I am committed to talking to coaches and getting to know them and more about how soccer is at their school. I am also willing to put my part in talking to college coaches and becoming smarter at soccer by doing whatever necessary to take soccer to the next level.
