Personal Statement
I first stepped onto the pitch when I was six, playing on a recreational team. Immediately I fell in love with the game and my passion has only grown since then. After a few years playing recreationally, I switched to Nordic Soccer Club to play at the highest level I could. Soon after this High School came around and I started every game as a center back as a freshman on the varsity team. My High School team is one of the most important aspects of my life. I love spending everyday with great friends that share my passion for the game and look forward to training every day. Never did I think the game would have such a large impact on my life and who I have become. Playing competitive soccer has taught me so many things including patience, courage, determination, and competitiveness but most of all concept of family. My team is my family on and off the pitch. Soccer has given me in so many things and I love giving back to the soccer community. Every year my High School team participates in a program called TOP Soccer where we volunteer to help youth athletes with disabilities. This becomes our favorite Sunday morning ritual and a great way to give back. My wish is to continue to give back to the soccer community for all that it has given to me.
Academically, my determination and grit which I have developed from playing for so long sees the light. As a sophomore I excelled in junior level classes and as a junior I have maintained a 3.9 GPA while enrolled in three AP classes. I strongly believe my success in school is rooted from my passion for soccer and want to be the best at everything I do. Determination and effort got me accepted onto the National Honor Society and two straight appearances in our D1 Metro League Championship. As a member of the National Honor Society I have partaken in school food drives and cleanups to better my community. I am the type of athlete that takes school and seriously as the game. Currently I am most interested in Pre-Law and Business as majors but remain undecided. My goal is to play at the highest collegiate level possible while getting the best education I can.
