Personal Statement
I’m Grace and I’m a junior at Montpelier High School in Montpelier, Vermont. I fell in love with soccer from the first moment I touched a ball in Kindergarten. I have played club soccer since fourth grade as well as soccer for my elementary/middle school and am currently playing at the varsity level for my high school. I have worked super hard to develop my skills in order to become the most complete player that I can be. It is a dream of mine to play at the college level and to be surrounded by coaches and players who are as passionate about the sport as I am. Some of my strengths are my leadership skills (I was selected to be team captain for my varsity squad this year), my versatility at different field positions, and my strong work ethic. I have been named to my region’s All-State team this year and have been an all league player for 3 years now, once playing defense and twice playing offense. I also began to play ODP soccer this past year! I played well at the regional tournament and was chosen by the selection committee to represent my state at the Regional Camp (in which all of the strongest players from Northeastern quadrant of the country competed). While I love soccer, I have also been vigilant about my studies and put a lot of effort into being a student-athlete. I have been able to maintain a very strong GPA and was able to successfully complete a college course (Human Biology) at the University of Vermont this summer. I strive to be a well-rounded person on and off the field and feel that I would have a lot to offer any college community.
